Top Ten Tuesday ~ To Read or Not To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by

This weeks topic:
To read or not to read?
All of these books have been on my radar for a while but for some reason or other, I'm not quite sure where I'm at with reading them.  I still sort of want to, but also sort of not.
Now and ForeverThe Here and Now
Defiance (Defiance #1)Glitch (Glitch, #1)

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1)

The Program (The Program, #1)Witch Song (Witch Song, #1)
After the End (After the End #1)Love Letters to the Dead

So what do you all think? Are these books ones I need to give a chance anyway or am I right to maybe put them down a ways on my TBR?  Let me know and leave me your links as well and maybe I can help you make your decision "to read or not to read" decision as well.

    1. I am taking notes! This post may become very helpful when I'm trying to make a decision in the future! Thank you for your input and stopping by Chrissi!

  2. I've only read two of these books. Love Letters to the Dead has a great premise but I wasn't the biggest fan of the execution. And I've also read Unearthly. I enjoyed this series despite my dislike of angels but I can see why it wouldn't be for everyone. Hope you find many great books you're interested in!

    1. Thanks Kate! I started LLttD and I was just feeling sad and needed something happier and now I don't know that I will ever go back to it. Sadly, that is the one book I HAD to have for my birthday and now I may never read it. :( I may have to give Unearthly a try after all. Thanks for your input! Have a fantastic week!

  3. I loved The Program! I would definitely recommend it. ;) Buuut, Love Letters to the Dead? I feel very meh about the whole thing and I think it kind of blatantly copied The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Which is awkward. I never even finished Eragon. -_- But I have unfinished books so maybe I'll get to it eventually?!

    1. Cait, the reason I'm so torn on The Program is I am in dystopian burn out. I think I really will try it eventually. I never read Perks of Being a Wallflower but I did see the movie and it was just okay. Eragon has been staring me down for years....I wonder if it will ever happen. lol Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I haven't read any of your picks, but I have a few of them. I skeptical of Eragon too. Here's My TTT

    1. Maybe we need to read those at the same time and then we will do it! :) Thanks for stopping by as always my dear!

  6. I liked Eragon a lot when I read it, but it was a long time ago, before the movie, before the buzz.

Here's my list of Books I'm Not Sure I Want to Read.

    1. The buzz and hype tend to get us all I think. Thanks for stopping by Deb!

  7. I have been so pumped for books lately, but then I would end up not being bothered about them!

A lot of people have got Eragon on their list. I was so happy to read it and I bought the boxed set and now I am not so bothered about it so it is just on my shelf!

I also agree with The Programme! I wanted that books so bad and now I really don't mind. The negative reviews don't help that much though!

Thanks for sharing & great list! :D

    1. Alex, I love it when you leave me comments because your accent just bleeds through and makes me think of my British family that I love so much ("now I really don't mind" is something they would say) I don't know what it is about Eragon. It just sits. So strange what books do to us!

  8. I've only read Eragon on your list and like another commenter said earlier it was a looong time ago. I actually put Eldest on my list since I'm not sure I want to continue that series. From what I recall from Eragon, I enjoyed reading it. But it's also a long book so it might just be a timing issue.

Some of your other choices are on my radar too. I just haven't had time to consider a pass or pursue decision yet.

Thanks for sharing your list! Great post :)

    1. I guess the good part is if they are on our shelf and we finally decide to read them they are there for us right? Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. :)

  9. Out of the ten, I’d recommend Unearthly. It took me a while to fully click with it, but one I did, I loved it!

Glitch, The Program and After the End are all on my TBR list, and I feel the same as you about them. I don’t know if I really want to read them anymore. I’ve seen Defiance floating around for so long, but I haven’t decided if I’m up for reading it. I must look at the blurb again, it's been so long since I've read it, eek!

    Have a great week Kristalyn!

    1. There are so many books that sometimes it's hard to know which ones are worth our time or not. I may have to give Unearthly a try just on your say so....which means if I hate it, it can be your fault! (just kidding) Thanks for stopping over Alma! <3

  10. I read Unearthly quite recently and it was just meh. It didn't help that there was a massive love triangle happening :( I really want to read After the End! I've heard amazing things about it :)

    1. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews on After the End. I LOVED The Revenants series so it's hard to know for sure. I know this is different from that but I love Amy Plum's writing.

      Thanks for stopping by Eileen!

  11. I enjoyed the Here and Now, even if there were some unbelievable moments. I loved After the End! the characters were fantastic and the plot was quite interesting, I recommend ♥♥ The Program is on that I'm interested in right now.

    1. Okay Mo, I'm so not sure about After the End but I think I loved The Revenants series enough I'm going to give it a shot. Unbelievable is what Fiction is all about right? ;) Thanks for the insight and for stopping by! Have a great week!

    2. I totally agree that unbelievable and fiction go together like peas and carrots. I thought the plot was great and thought hey, the world could eventually come to an end because of those darn mosquitoes lol. But I do not like it when the characters are unbelievable, or how some scenes should logically play out but don't.

  12. I enjoyed Unearthly, but I can't say I feel too compelled to read the 2nd book in the series. And I have Defiance in my possession, but I haven't started it yet.
